Colaberation with Bláa Herinn & Garðasel
Courtyard by Marriott Reykjavik Keflavik Airport and The Bridge Restaurant & Bar has an active collaboration with two local groups. One is Blái Herinn to clean up the environment around the hotel.
The other collaboration is with a local kindergarten, Garðasel.
KEFCY staff and the oldest group at Garðasel planted birch trees at Trúðaskóg (e.Clown forest) which is an outdoor activity area.
One of Iceland’s goals for binding CO2 is to restore the cover-up of birch forests in the country.
Sustainable Choices at The Bridge
The Bridge always offers organic wines which are sustainable products. The Bridge beer is from a local brewery, Litla Brugghúsið, in Garður. This brewery is run by three local residents that have been making beer together for years and finally decided to open up a brewery. Litla Brugghúsið is only 11 min drive from Courtyard by Marriott Reykjavik Keflavik Airport.
The restaurant serves Icelandic Cod that is sustainable. Icelandic fisheries are managed by a catch limitation and are based on a scientific evaluation of the health of the fisheries for the next year quota.
